CUSTOM EXAM BUILDER
Build a practice exam from the topics you choose.
Pick a syllabus and the chapters you have covered, set the number of questions and the time, and Momentum draws a paper from real past-paper questions — to sit on screen against the clock, mark against the real schemes, or print.
Free with a Momentum account, for every syllabus in the topical bank.

From chapters to a marked paper in five steps
- Choose a syllabus and its chapters
Any syllabus in the topical bank, and any of its chapters — none means the whole syllabus. The pool of questions they hold is counted as you choose.
- Set the length and the time
Quick (10 questions, 30 minutes), standard (15, 45), a full paper’s worth (25, 90), or your own count and time. Narrow by paper, year, session, zone and marks if you want to.
- Build the paper
The count is met exactly and the time as nearly as the bank allows, with the questions spread across your chapters. Or hand-pick the questions from the Topical list instead.
- Sit it
A page at a time: timed, untimed or open book. The clock keeps counting past the limit rather than closing the paper, you can flag questions to come back to, and any question’s scheme can be opened under it.
- Mark it
When the sitting ends, each question’s mark scheme sits under it. Enter your marks for a score and a table by chapter — or just a final score, for a paper marked on paper.
WHY NOT JUST A PAST PAPER?
What a custom mock does that a whole past paper cannot
- It tests what you have covered. A June paper assumes the whole course; a mock built from your first six chapters does not mark you down for the ninth.
- It draws from every year. Questions on one chapter from many different papers show every way the topic is asked, not just the way one paper asked it.
- It scores you by chapter. Mark it and the table shows which chapters lost the marks — which is where to revise next.

Sit it on screen, or print it
The paper and its mark scheme save as PDFs at any stage: laid out like a mock, a sheet per question with its marks and source, and the scheme as a document of its own. Hide the topics to sit it as a real exam — no chapter is named anywhere and it is titled Mock Exam — and a sitting left open is saved every minute, so it can be picked up again.
Teachers can put their school’s name and logo on the cover and print a paper for a whole class. Momentum for schools
What it does not do yet
- Draw by difficulty: no question in the bank is rated yet, so there is nothing to choose between.
- Send a built paper to a class: a printed paper can go to every student, but only multiple-choice tests can be set to a class inside Momentum.
- Mark written answers for you: you mark each question against its scheme. Multiple choice is the exception — MCQ practice marks the letters itself.
